As a short story junkie, I am painfully aware that the supply of short story collections published is sparse, so it brings me great joy not only to see one released but also to find it completely engrossing.
In the first story, a woman whose own marriage was built on shaky roots hosts a dinner party for, among others, a colleague whom she knows is cheating on his wife, that wife (who may or may not know what is going on), and another woman who has written a book about having her arm ripped off by a bobcat. And that’s just the first story. The others explore different scenarios with equally intriguing energy.
Rebecca Lee is someone to watch.
